Cookie Policy
Exactly what this website stores in your browser, what each optional category does, and how to change your mind at any time.
- Effective
- Last updated
The short version. This website sets no cookies of its own. The only thing we store in your browser is your answer to the cookie banner. Everything optional stays switched off until you turn it on.
What cookies and browser storage are
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to save, which the browser sends back on later visits. Websites also use other kinds of browser storage that work similarly but are not technically cookies — local storage and session storage are the common ones. Local storage stays until it is cleared; session storage disappears when you close the tab.
This policy covers all of them, because from your point of view the question is the same: what is being kept in my browser, by whom, and for how long?
What this site actually uses
Here is the complete list. There is nothing else.
| Name | Type | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
le-consent-v1 |
Local storage | This website | Remembers your cookie choices, when you made them, and which version of these categories you were shown | Until you clear it, or 365 days — whichever comes first |
That really is the whole first-party list. This site has no login, no shopping cart and no personalisation, so there is nothing else it needs to remember about you.
Strictly necessary Always active
These are needed for the site to work and to respect the choices you make. They cannot be switched off, because switching them off would mean we could not record that you had switched anything off.
In our case this category contains exactly one item: the
le-consent-v1 record in the table above. It stays in your
browser, it is never transmitted to us, and it contains nothing but your
preferences and a timestamp. It does not identify you.
Functional Optional — off by default
Functional storage supports content embedded from other companies.
On this site, this category covers one thing: the Google Map on our Contact page. Loading a Google Map means your browser contacts Google, and Google may set its own cookies and storage in your browser under its own policies. We cannot list those individually because they are Google’s, not ours, and they change.
Once the map loads, it also fetches whatever Google needs to draw it — map tiles, and Google’s own fonts for the labels and controls inside the map. That happens inside Google’s frame and is outside our control, which is exactly why we ask you first. It does not affect the rest of the page: the text you are reading now uses typefaces served from this website, never from Google.
Until you allow this category, the map does not load. In its place you get a button, plus our full address and an ordinary link to directions — so you can still find us without loading anything from Google. Pressing the button loads the map and turns this category on.
Analytics Optional — off by default
Analytics helps us understand which pages people actually use, so we know what to improve.
We use a visit-counting script from Elevated Peak Marketing. We have read what it does, and we want to be precise about it, because it is unusual:
- It sets no cookies.
- It stores nothing in your browser — no local storage, no session storage.
- It creates no persistent identifier, so it cannot recognise you on a later visit or follow you to another website.
What it does do is send a message to Elevated Peak Marketing each time a page loads, containing the page address, the referring page, any campaign tags in the link, a coarse device type, your browser family and the time. Because that is data leaving your browser to a third party, we ask before loading it, even though no cookie is involved.
If you decline — or if you close the banner without choosing — the script is never added to the page. Your browser makes no request to that company at all.
Advertising and marketing None used
We do not run advertising, remarketing or marketing technology on this website. There is no Meta pixel, no Google Ads tag, no TikTok pixel and no conversion tracking of that kind.
Because none exists, there is deliberately no advertising switch in our cookie settings — we would rather not ask you to make a choice about something that is not there. If we ever add anything of this kind, we will add a separate control for it, update this page first, and ask everyone for their choices again rather than carrying over an answer given about a different setup.
Other third-party requests
A couple of things are worth mentioning even though they are not covered by a consent switch:
Web fonts
The site’s typefaces are served from this website itself, not from Google Fonts or any other font service. Nothing outside this site is contacted to render the text you are reading, whatever cookie choices you make.
Our website host
This site is hosted by Netlify, and Netlify handles the form submissions. Like any web server, Netlify receives standard request information. This is how the site is delivered to you at all, so it is not something that can be toggled. Our Privacy Policy covers it.
Links you choose to follow
If you click through to our financing provider, a CARFAX report, Google Maps or Google reviews, you are then on their website and their cookies and policies apply. Nothing about your choices here carries over to them.
Changing your choices
You can change your mind at any time, and as often as you like.
- Use the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page, or .
- Turn individual categories on or off and press Save preferences.
- Turning a category off reloads the page. That is deliberate: a script that has already run in that page view cannot be un-run, so we reload to make sure your new choice is genuinely in force rather than taking effect on the next page.
We will ask you again if your saved choice is more than a year old, or if we materially change what sits in these categories. We do not treat an old answer about a different setup as consent to a new one.
Browser-level controls
You can also control cookies and storage in your browser, independently of anything on this site. Browsers let you block or delete cookies and site data, and most offer a private browsing mode that discards them when you close the window.
Look under Settings → Privacy in Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge.
One practical note: if you block all site data, this site will not be able to remember your cookie choice either, so you may see the banner on each visit. Nothing optional will load in the meantime.
Updates to this policy
If we add, remove or change anything that uses cookies or browser storage, we will update this page and change the “Last updated” date at the top. Where the change is material, we will ask for your choices again.
